Formative assessment of infant and young child feeding practices at the community level in Zambia
Summary: Following on the results of the 2007 Zambia Demographic and Health Survey, IYCN conducted this formative study to fill gaps in understanding of caregivers’ practices. In particular, the study explores factors that influence a mother’s ability to exclusively breastfeed for the first six months of an infant’s life and factors that influence appropriate complementary feeding for children 6–23 months of age.
